Dr. Christof Beierle is a permanent public official
At the beginning of July, Dean Prof. Laurenz Wiskott presented Dr. Christof Beierle with his certificate of appointment.
Beierle is a research associate at the Chair of Symmetric Cryptography of Prof. Gregor Leander. In his research, he focuses on the design and analysis of symmetric cryptographic primitives and the associated mathematical questions. Symmetric primitives are characterized by the use of the same key for both encryption and decryption. Since these primitives are usually composed of functions over finite fields, he also studies these functions with regard to their cryptographic properties and the resulting combinatorial problems. Beierle is also active in teaching, for example with the lectures “Finite Fields: Theory and Algorithms” and “Mathematics 3”.
