LERNFORM

Self study of research material.

LERNZIELE

Students will learn how to analyze a research area in the areas of software security or Internet security on their own, how to systematize the knowledge, and they will produce an overarching conclusive literature review report.

INHALT

The seminar covers current research in the area of software security and Internet security.
An overview of current topics is available in the seminar system.
Topics include, but are not limited to, for example:

Program Analysis for Software Security
Software Defenses
Vulnerability Discovery and Automatic Exploitation
Measurements of Internet Security Issues
Internet Network Protocol Design, Deployment and Abuse Issues

VORAUSSETZUNGEN CREDITS

Independent preparation of the assigned topics, timely submission of the successfully completed tasks, and final presentation.

EMPFOHLENE VORKENNTNISSE

Prior IT security knowledge is required. Prior knowledge in software security and program analysis, or network security and networking is recommended.

LITERATUR

The course material will be available online (Moodle or via a separate website).

SONSTIGE INFORMATIONEN

The seminar is aimed at master students of IT Security and ITS/Networks and Systems. Students of the Master of Applied Computer Science and the Bachelor of Computer Science and IT Security may also participate after prior approval by the lecturer, if applicable.
