Curriculum VitaeDavid Rupprecht received his B.Eng. in Computer Science and Telecommunications from the University of Applied Sciences for Telecommunications Leipzig, Germany, in 2012. He continued his master's degree in 2015 at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany where he also received his Ph.D. in 2020. His Ph.D. thesis focuses on securing 4G and 5G networks on the radio layer. During his research activities he has found several implementation and specification flaws in current and future mobile networks. Each of these cases has led to tangible improvements to the security of the mobile industry, through updates to 3GPP standards, test cases, network deployments and industry good practice documents (GSMA).
ResearchMy research focuses on mobile network security, particularly on the LTE and 5G access network. Within this domain, I concentrate on specification, implementation as well as configuration flaws. In my spare time, I contribute to the srsLTE project (https://www.srslte.com/).
