Biography

Currently, I am a post-doc in symmetric cryptography at the Ruhr University Bochum (Germany) in the group headed by prof. Gregor Leander, and a consultant at Ponos Technology. So far, I have done research in symmetric cryptography at the Radboud University Nijmegen (in the Digital Security group headed by prof. Joan Daemen), and at the Graz University of Technology (group headed by prof. Christian Rechberger). I defended my PhD at the IAIK, Graz University of Technology (Austria) in April 2019. Prior, I studied Mathematics at the University of the Study in Milano (Italy).

RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests include all aspects of cryptography, with particular focus on the design and cryptanalysis of symmetric cryptographic algorithms, such as ciphers and hash functions. Within symmetric cryptography, I have a well-established expertise in
  •  the cryptanalysis of AES and AES-like schemes, and
  • the design and the security analysis of symmetric primitives for Multi-Party Computation (MPC), Zero-Knowledge (ZK) and Homomorphic Encryption (HE) applications.
I am a co-designer of several MPC-/ZK-/FHE-friendly schemes, including MiMC, Rasta, HadesMiMC, Poseidon, Ciminion, Reinforced Concrete, Hydra, Griffin, Pasta, among others.
