New event series: RUB AI Lecture Series

The most exciting developments in artificial intelligence in the spotlight

The new RUB AI Lecture Series is a monthly event dedicated to the latest advances and most exciting developments in artificial intelligence. International researchers present the cutting edge insights from their specialist field. At the same time, the lecture series serves as an informal platform to promote the exchange and dynamic collaboration of the AI community within the faculty, the RUB and beyond. The next event is already scheduled for April 10.

The event series is organized by the Chairs of AI and Society headed by Prof. Bilal Zafar, Artificial Intelligence and Formal Methods headed by Prof. Nils Jansen and the Chair of Machine Learning headed by Prof. Asja Fischer.

The second lecture will be given by Thiago D. Simão on “Safety and Reliability in Reinforcement Learning” on April 10.

Following the successful kick-off event with Assistant Professor Umang Bhatt (New York University) on March 13 on the topic of “Orchestrating AI Agents among Humans” with around 30 participants, those interested can look forward to the lecture “Safety in Reinforcement Learning” by Assistant Professor Thiago D. Simão (TU Eindhoven) on April 10. Participation is possible both on site and digitally via Zoom. In order to create a smooth transition, the event will usually take place before the monthly Meetup of the AI/Machine Learning Chairs – for a joint get-together in a relaxed atmosphere. The organizers are looking forward to a lively participation in the AI Lecture Series in order to advance the development of artificial intelligence together.
