Chair of Software Engineering partners with Volkswagen Infotainment in research collaboration
The aim of the partnership is to validate scientific approaches in the industry and to further develop VW Infotainment’s software development with input from research. The collaboration focuses on the two topics “Effective Anomaly Detection, Root-Cause Analysis and Field-Based Testing” and “Effective Variability Management”.
Head of the Chair Prof. Dr. Thorsten Berger and Matthias Jobst, Head of Software Development at VW Infotainment, signed the cooperation agreement on November 14, 2024 at Mark 51°7, the headquarters of VW Infotainment. The agreement runs for three years, during which VW Infotainment GmbH will provide financial support for different RUB research projects.
“The exchange between both sides of this agreement, the corresponding publications and the mutual development of expertise represent an important pillar in taking our development work to the next level,” explains Matthias Jobs. Andreas Hülsmann, Managing Director of VW Infotainment, emphasizes the importance of synergy effects: “In a world that changes so quickly, cooperation and connections are more important than ever. Cooperations like this one ensure open and direct communication channels between science and the economy.”
Thomas Nadjib, also Managing Director of VW Infotainment, sees the further development of software solutions as a social task for industry and science: “Software solutions are the core of an all-encompassing economic and societal transformation. This is a community task. With this cooperation, we want to seize opportunities together and make our contribution to this transformation.”
The partnership marks another significant step in the cooperation between science and industry and once again underlines the innovative force of the Bochum IT ecosystem.
