6th AI-FM Workshop
We had our 6th AI-FM workshop, bringing together the Postdocs, PhD- and research students of Prof. Nils Jansen from both RUB and Radboud University in Nijmegen, as well as many great guests: Prof. Milan Ceska with his students Filip Macák and David Hudák (Brno University of Technology), Prof. Clemens Dubslaff and Prof. Thiago Simão (Eindhoven University of Technology), Dr. Marnix Suilen (Antwerp), Wietze Koops (Lund University and University of Copenhagen), and Tabea Frisch. This workshop focused on brainstorming sessions, discussing topics ranging from risk-aware decision-making in stochastic systems to variants of partially observable Markov decision processes, to cutting-edge ideas like programmatic reinforcement learning and reinforcement unlearning.
Naturally, many participants also took advantage of their collaborators’ physical presence to make progress on ongoing projects. Of course, it was not all about work. We also had plenty of time for socializing (though it usually turned to work discussions sooner or later).
Our Christmas party on Wednesday evening included several huge pizzas and a walk to the RUB Christmas market, which is arguably as small as a Christmas market can be and still count as one. Still, it offered the essential experience: clutching a warm cup of Glühwein in the cold.
Many of us spent the rest of the evening singing together, and there were big ideas for next time, with words like band, chamber orchestra, or our own POMDP song being thrown around. Thanks to everyone for making this workshop so productive and fun!
We’re already looking forward to the next one!
